Virgin Voyages was designed as an argument against cruising as usual. Adults only, gratuities and Wi-Fi included, no buffet, no formal night, no photographers, no upcharge main restaurants, and a fleet of four identical 2,770-guest ships that behave more like boutique hotels than mega-ships.

    About Virgin Voyages

Launched in 2020 as a Virgin Group and Bain Capital joint venture, Virgin Voyages built four sister ships at Fincantieri in Genoa: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady. Guests are Sailors, crew are Creators, and the design language is closer to a Miami hotel group than a shipping line.

Structurally the fare is the story. Gratuities, Wi-Fi, group fitness classes, still and sparkling water, drip coffee and tea, and every restaurant on board — including the twenty-odd venues most lines would sell as speciality — are inside the base price. Drinks and shore excursions are the main paid extras.

There is no buffet. Food comes from The Galley, a food-hall of counters, and from full-service restaurants such as Test Kitchen, Pink Agave, Extra Virgin, Gunbae and The Wake. Entertainment is commissioned original work rather than licensed production shows, and the late-night programming is genuinely late.

    Onboard Experiences

Suite enclaves, fare tiers, and signature onboard products.

Loyalty Programme — The Sailing Club

The Sailing Club is Virgin's recognition programme, joined automatically after a first voyage. Benefits are delivered as Sailor Loot — onboard credit — plus early access to itinerary releases and member-only fares.

There is no elaborate tier ladder. The practical value is the repeat-sailing credit and the booking window, which matters on a four-ship fleet where popular Mediterranean and Caribbean dates sell out early.

    Destinations

Caribbean sailings run from Miami and San Juan year-round, most calling at The Beach Club at Bimini — Virgin's private Bahamian beach venue with a resident DJ programme.

Mediterranean seasons run from Barcelona, Athens, Civitavecchia and Portsmouth in summer, with Northern Europe and transatlantic repositioning voyages in the shoulder months and an Australia and New Zealand season from Melbourne.
