Viking Osiris was built in Egypt for Nile service, carrying 82 guests between Luxor and Aswan on the line's Pharaohs and Pyramids itinerary.
Interiors read as Scandinavian-modern rather than colonial pastiche, with a shaded sun deck and a small pool that gets constant use in Upper Egypt's heat.
The shore programme is the product: private access at Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Abu Simbel, all led by resident Egyptologists.
The twelve-day itinerary bundles Cairo, Giza and Saqqara with the river section and internal flights, so the ship is one part of a larger land-and-river package.
