    Viking Explorer Suite

    Back to Viking River Cruises

The Explorer Suite exists because of an engineering decision. Offsetting the Longship's corridor to one side freed the full beam at the bow, and Viking used it for two genuine suites rather than more standard cabins.

The suite runs to roughly 41 square metres with a separate bedroom, a living room, one and a half bathrooms and a wraparound veranda that gives forward and side views under way.

Occupants receive priority restaurant reservations, complimentary laundry and shoe-shine, a stocked mini-bar refreshed daily, and welcome sparkling wine.

There is no separate restaurant, lounge or butler service — Viking runs a single-class product and the suite is a hardware upgrade rather than a ship-within-a-ship.

Only two exist per Longship, so they sell out first on the popular Rhine and Danube departures, usually a year or more ahead.
