The Nile ship is built to Egyptian river dimensions: shallower draught, a large shaded sun deck and a small swimming pool, which matters far more on the Nile than on the Rhine.

Capacity is 82 guests, so excursion groups at Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and Edfu are smaller than the coach-tour norm.

Fares include Egyptologist-guided excursions at every site, all meals, a local drinks package and transfers, with a Cairo and Giza land extension sold as a package add-on.

Sailings run year-round with the strongest demand between October and April, when daytime temperatures in Upper Egypt are manageable.
