TUI River Cruises launched in 2022 as the river counterpart to Marella, aimed squarely at British holidaymakers who want the price on the page to be the price they pay. Flights from UK regional airports, transfers, drinks and a daily excursion are bundled in.

    About TUI River Cruises

The fleet is small and deliberately so: TUI Maya, TUI Skyla and TUI Isla work the Rhine, Main, Danube and Rhône, while TUI Al Horeya sails the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.

The fare model is the point of difference. Where most river lines quote a cruise-only price and add flights, transfers, drinks packages and excursions, TUI sells a single package with UK departures included — the same operating logic that made Marella work at sea.

Onboard style is relaxed rather than formal. There are no dress codes, no fixed dining times and no captain's gala; entertainment is a resident duo and a destination lecturer rather than production shows.

The trade-off is a smaller fleet and fewer itinerary permutations than Viking or AmaWaterways, and a product pitched at value rather than at the food and wellness end of the market.

    Onboard Experiences

Suite enclaves, fare tiers, and signature onboard products.

Loyalty Programme — TUI Cruise Rewards

TUI Cruise Rewards recognises repeat guests across TUI's cruise brands, so Marella sailings and river voyages count toward the same tier.

Benefits run to onboard credit, priority embarkation and a members' discount on subsequent bookings, applied at the point of sale rather than through a points balance.

    Destinations

European sailings depart from Cologne, Amsterdam, Vienna, Budapest and Avignon, covering the Rhine, Main, Danube and Rhône with UK flights included.

TUI Al Horeya runs the classic Nile itinerary between Luxor and Aswan, packaged with a Cairo and Giza extension and direct UK charter flights.
