Ventures by Seabourn is the programme that lets a Mediterranean or Alaskan cruise behave like an expedition voyage for a morning at a time.
A permanent expedition team of naturalists, historians and marine scientists sails on Ventures-designated voyages, running Zodiac cruising, sea kayaking and guided hikes in places conventional coach tours cannot reach.
On the expedition ships Venture and Pursuit the programme is the core product, extended by two custom submersibles rated to 300 metres.
On the ocean fleet, Ventures excursions are sold separately from standard shore excursions and sell out early — they are typically capped at 12 to 24 guests.
The team also runs an onboard lecture programme, which on Norway and Alaska sailings is substantially better than the general enrichment offering elsewhere in the luxury field.
