Seven Seas Navigator has the most unusual provenance in the luxury fleet: her hull was laid down in the early 1990s as the Soviet research vessel Akademik Nikolay Pilyugin and completed as a cruise ship in 1999.

That origin gave her an exceptionally solid hull and, because the superstructure was designed afresh, some of the largest standard suites in the luxury market for the tonnage.

At 490 guests she is the most itinerary-flexible ship Regent operates, working the Baltic, the Adriatic and the Great Lakes-adjacent Canada and New England season.
