Spectrum of the Seas entered service in April 2019 as the fourth Quantum-class ship and the first Quantum Ultra variant. She is based year-round in Shanghai and is Royal's China-market flagship.

Spectrum was purpose-tuned for the Chinese guest mix — expanded suite programme (The Golden and Silver Suites with private restaurant), Sichuan and Cantonese specialty restaurants, and a Karaoke and mahjong programme distinct from the North American fleet.

She operates four- to seven-night itineraries to Japan and South Korea and is the reason Royal has been the market-leading Western cruise brand in China.
