Oasis Class was the class that redefined what a cruise ship could be. Launched in 2009 with Oasis of the Seas, the class introduced the seven-neighbourhood layout — Central Park (open-air garden), Boardwalk (Coney Island-inspired promenade), Royal Promenade, Pool & Sports Zone, Youth Zone, Vitality Spa, and Entertainment Place — plus the AquaTheater, a purpose-built outdoor diving and acrobatics venue.
Six ships have been delivered: Oasis of the Seas (2009), Allure (2010), Harmony (2016), Symphony (2018), Wonder (2022), and Utopia of the Seas (2024). The later ships in the class add refinements — Ultimate Abyss dry slide, Perfect Storm water park, escape rooms — but share the same fundamental architecture.
Oasis Class remains the workhorse of Royal's Caribbean deployment. Utopia of the Seas is the first Oasis-class ship built for short-cruise duty (three- and four-night Bahamas sailings) and represents a deliberate step down in itinerary length while keeping the full mega-ship experience intact.
