Norwegian Breakaway (2013) and Norwegian Getaway (2014) introduced The Waterfront — a quarter-mile outdoor promenade lined with bars and restaurants at sea level, a feature the industry has been copying ever since.
Both ships carry the full Freestyle dining estate, a three-storey Aqua Park, the Illusionarium dinner-theatre venue, and a well-executed Haven courtyard complex at the top of the ship.
Deployment is deliberately convenient: Breakaway has spent much of her life on year-round New York sailings, while Getaway works Miami, Galveston and European seasons.
