MSC Lirica entered service in March 2003 as MSC's first purpose-built modern ship. She was lengthened by 24 metres in 2015 under the Renaissance Programme, gaining approximately 200 cabins and expanded public rooms.
At 65,000 GT Lirica is the smallest ship in the modern MSC fleet and the one most consistently deployed on port-intensive Mediterranean, Adriatic and seasonal Middle East itineraries. The onboard product is deliberately more traditional — no LED promenade, no dry slide, no Yacht Club — with fewer dining venues and a more relaxed pace.
For guests who want a genuinely small-ship-feel modern MSC product and are prioritising ports over onboard theatrics, Lirica is often the correct choice.
