About Holland America Line
Holland America Line was founded in 1873 as the Netherlands-America Steamship Company, making it one of the oldest continuously operating shipping brands in the world. The modern cruise business joined Carnival Corporation in 1989 and has retained a distinctive Dutch-maritime identity — teak decks, Rijksmuseum-loan artwork, and Indonesian and Filipino service crews — while modernising the fleet through the Pinnacle, Signature, Vista, and R-class newbuild programmes.
