Cheers! is the single biggest variable in what a Carnival cruise costs. The base fare is low precisely because the line expects to recover revenue at the bar.
The package covers alcoholic drinks up to a set price point with a fifteen-drink daily limit, plus unlimited soft drinks, speciality coffee, bottled water, and a discount on drinks priced above the cap.
It must be bought for every adult in the same stateroom and for the full length of the cruise, and it is cheaper pre-purchased online than on board. Gratuity is included in the advertised rate.
The break-even is roughly five to six drinks a day. Below that, pay as you go and take the Bottomless Bubbles soft drinks package instead.
