All four Azamara ships came from the same Chantiers de l'Atlantique series built for Renaissance Cruises between 1998 and 2001 — arguably the most successful small-ship design of the modern era.
At around 30,000 GT and 700 guests they berth centrally in cities where larger ships are pushed to industrial terminals, which is the entire basis of Azamara's itinerary strategy.
Successive refits have added a Living Room lounge, the Windows Café buffet, Prime C steakhouse and Aqualina, plus a refreshed suite product. Onward, added in 2022, received the most comprehensive rebuild of the four.
