Avalon's Suite Ship concept began with this generation, and its defining decision is the bed orientation: staterooms are laid out sideways so the bed faces the window wall rather than the wall.
Panorama Suites run to roughly 18 to 19 square metres with a sliding glass wall that converts the cabin front into an open-air balcony — larger than the European river standard of around 15 square metres.
Public rooms are a single main restaurant, a Panorama Bistro for lighter meals, a forward observation lounge and a sun deck with a whirlpool and a walking track.
Ships in this class work the Rhine, Danube, Moselle, Rhône, Seine and Douro, and their moderate dimensions make them flexible across the European network.
